TUBITAK MRC HAS ESTABLISHED THE GMO LABORATORY

The subject about GMO is frequently mentioned nowadays and declarations stating that there is no GMO laboratory in Turkey are being made. Detection of GMO products which require laboratory facilities in special conditions and professional staff employment can be performed in TUBITAK MRC.
TUBITAK MRC Food Institute that directed its movement according to Turkey's demand, has invested for this subject and provided the speciality of its personnel with a training of 6 months in an Institute in England which is an authority on this subject. At the end, a GMO laboratory has been established in our foundation and has started to serve for the food sector in 2002. Moreover since GMO Laboratory has international accreditation certificate, our reports are internationally valid. But, although there is no other laboratory to perform this analysis in international accreditation standards, the present laboratory is not used with full capacity.
