ELIT-1: ELECTRİC VEHICLE PROJECT

In the TUBITAK MRC, ELIT-1 Electric Vehicle Project, the first hybrid electric vehicle prototype of Turkey has been developed by transforming TOFAS (Turkish Automobile Factory) product car marked DOBLO into hybrid electric vehicle. Vehicle (DOBLO) used in this project and most of the financial support have been provided by TOFAS A.S.

In the ELIT-1, Serial Hybrid Electric Vehicle, an electric engine is turning the wheels on. Within the city mode, the electric engine is driven just by the batteries creating a quiet and emission free driving ability. In the same time, the energy lost during brakes in Nowadays cars is regained in ELIT-1 Hybrid Electric Vehicle by the regenerative braking ability and is stored in the accumulator.
Another important property is that the engine does not have to work during waiting moments in traffic jam in the city. These properties provide saving the energy in the vehicle and increase its capacity. Moreover, internal combustion engine and generator that maintain the hybrid properties of the prototype, eliminates the addiction to charging stations and give the prototype chance of continuous usage.
