The automotive technology has been developed rapidly in recent years; therefore, the number of vehicle has been increased in parallel with technology. This irrepressible augmentation also causes the increase of fuel consumption as well as the emissions. The Vehicle Technologies Research Group of TUBITAK MRC, Institute of Energy works for the environment-friendly energy.
Vehicle Technologies Research Group designs and develops electric and hybrid electric vehicles for civilian and military purposes. The group designs and produces prototype of hybrid vehicles at various configurations. The group also works on electric vehicle components and subsystems design and development, such as motor and motor drive, battery and electronic control unit. The group is the most dynamic and exhaustive team in Turkey not only for the experience but also for the researcher potential from different disciplines.
The Vehicle Technologies Research Group of TUBITAK MRC, Institute of Energy also works on military applications and performs the responsibilities about the national security. For military purposes, in Vehicle Technology Research Group Laboratories commonly works on invisibility, reduction of acoustic and thermal signatures, advanced management of signature control, more robust architecture, better fuel efficiency, improved security and sustainability, increased transport capability, better survivability, and creation of a base for future electric armour and weapons applications.
The Vehicle Technologies Research Group has the information, ability and background to generate different solutions for diverse expectations. The completed and continued projects by the group indicate the experience about the vehicle technology. The group support to improvement of the Turkish industry about developing vehicles of the future, improving alternative fuels and fuels efficiency with its background and knowledge.
