Batteries are electro-chemical energy storage systems that can transform electrical energy into electro-chemical energy and store it to be reused as electrical energy upon demand. They are used in a variety of applications ranging from electronic devices such as cell phones, radios and laptops, to electric vehicles, satellite & space, communications and defence systems. The customer-driven fast advancement directly affects the battery technology and triggers the progress thereof.
In an attempt to fulfill Turkey's civil and military needs, TÜBİTAK MRC Energy Institute spearheaded the foundation of Turkey's first ever Battery Laboratory and the initiation of Research and Development work in Battery Technology.
In accordance with Turkey's needs and requests of the customer organizations the Battery Group of the TÜBİTAK MRC Energy Institute aims to develop products up to the prototype level and provide Research and Development support to enhance the competitiveness of the national battery industry in the international market. In this regard the group renders its services to the battery industry in design, development and testing infrastructure.
