OSD Electric Vehicle Technology Review Project, 2003-2004, OSD
With the support of the Automotive Manufacturers Association of TURKEY, a technology review project was conducted, and the results have been published in a book called "Electric Vehicles" in Turkish.

Elit-1 Hybrid Electric Vehicle, 2002-2003, TOFAŞ
Under the scope of the Elit-1 project, a TOFAŞ/FIAT Turk Automobile Factory AS-manufactured van, DOBLO, was converted into hybrid electric drive, becoming the first hybrid vehicle of TURKEY.

CEPA 16.02 Land Systems Integration, 2000-2002, MOD-R&D
This project was carried out with the participation of 12 industrial entities from six European Nations under the frame of WEAG CEPA 16. The aim of the project was to evaluate technologies for a 24-ton all-electric combat vehicle.

 

 

 

 

CEPA 16.01 Sea Systems Integration, 1999-2001, MOD-R&D
The project was a Joint Program with the participation of 8 WEAG Nations. The aim of the program was to address and reduce possible risks in the integration of the developing technologies on an all-electric warship.

CEPA 16.04 Energy Storage Systems, 1998-2000, MOD-R&D
The project was carried out with the participation of the Netherlands, Italy, France, Greece, England, and Turkey. Different energy storage technologies such as batteries, flywheel, and SMES for future electric system applications were investigated in this project.

Naval Electrical Distribution System Based upon Innovative Solid State Switches. 2002-2005, MOD TR
A prototype of a 2-MW DC naval electric distribution system was produced by using 3kV and 0.75kV DC voltage. Under fault conditions, four (4) serial connected circuit breakers can coordinate with each other and generate a selective protection for best redundancy for the DC Naval distribution system.

An 800V/100A DC circuit prototype was developed in this project.

The Effects of Alternative Fuels on Internal Combustion Engines, 2002, MAP Air and Energy Systems Co.
The effects of alcohol derivates added to unleaded gasoline used in internal combustion engines were examined.

E- Diesel Test Program, 2003, Tarimsal Chemical Technologies Co.
Due to the substantial risk to the environment from diesel engine emissions such as nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and particulates, some standards are being realized by governments to hold these emissions at acceptable levels (e.g., Euro1 and Euro3). For this purpose, the use of different engine structures with fuels generating reduced emissions is on the agenda. In this project, the effects of alcohol derivatives added to diesel fuel used in internal combustion engines were evaluated.

Examination of the Effects of Fuel Additives on Internal Combustion Engines, 2004, Petrol Ofisi Co.
In this project, the traditionally known MMT additive (Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl) was added to unleaded gasoline in known concentrations. The effects of the additive on older cars that do not have a catalytic convertor were examined via literature surveys and testing. Test results were compared with automotive manufacturers' reports and literature documents.

Examination of the Effects of Fuel Additives on Diesel Engines, 2004, Petrol Ofisi Co.
This project was comprised of road tests for the purpose of comparing diesel fuel products. Approximately 24,500 km of road was driven with two cars provided by the project supporter having similar properties. Both cars were driven along the same stretch of road. In order to compare the effects of selected fuels, one car was driven using diesel fuels available in the open market, and the second car was driven using diesel fuel prepared and provided by the project supporter.

Determination of the Properties of an Unleaded Gasoline Additive, 2004, BP Co.
Potassium additives added to unleaded gasoline with different concentrations were examined. Different samples prepared at the Fuel Analysis Laboratory were also examined under different ambient conditions.


Control of Products from Selected Petroleum Stations, 2004, Petrol Ofisi Co.
Research Octane Number (RON) and sulfur analyses were carried out for unleaded gasoline taken from selected petroleum stations, and relevant properties were evaluated.
